Unfortunately, our foster sites are always full. The shelter can become overwhelmed at any time, and by adopting, you'll be saving a life. If you have ever considered adopting another rabbit, the time is now. No bun should live alone.
The House Rabbit Connection (P.O. Box 83 Springfield, MA 01101-0083) is a nonprofit [501 (c)(3)] organization. All donations are tax deductible.
And of course if you can foster, by all means let us know. Call the HopLine at (413)525-9222 (email links are at bottom of page).
Often, some of the rabbits shown here HAVE
been adopted. If so, we have plenty more who need a home, so give us a call.
If you don't find the rabbit(s) you are looking for here, please also check
our linked shelter pages.

Featured Foster Rabbit(s):
|
Windy is a lovely 5-pound bun who has made wonderful progress
on her trust of people. She loves when her foster mom pets her and waits patiently
for her dinner without complaining. And, she will let you pick her up briefly.
She is very curious and cannot resist checking you out. Windy has been waiting
a long time for her forever home. She has shown us that with a little TLC she
is a friendly loveable girl. She would still do best in a home without little
children. Please give us a call if you would like to meet Windy.

Coco is a 3 year old male, chocolate brown rabbit. Coco gained
some weight while in the shelter but now he is eating a healthy diet and getting
lots of exercise..He is looking great!! Coco is a playful bun, he loves cardboard
tubes to chew on, boxes to jump on or rest in or push around his pen. He likes
his big jingle ball he can throw or push. He is happy and friendly. Coco is
a very sweet boy, he has great litter box habits and he would be a nice rabbit
for a first time bunny caretaker.
Mason is a 2 year old male dwarf bunny - he is white with grey markings
and sweet dark blue eyes. Mason is so adorable!! He is a sweet and friendly
bunny who gets along well with cats.
Hi Everyone, my name is Victoria. I'm a 4 year old female Dutch
bunny. I had a nice home but they decided to give me up because they had no
time for me. I don't know why because I am very good with my litter box, I loved
their attention and when they petted me. I let them pick me up if they wanted
and would sit and watch TV with them. I don't mind other animals in the household
and I get along well with anyone. In my new foster home they have dogs and cats,
I even let one of their dogs lick me....it's kind of cool. I am very easy-going
and love to run and play. I hope there is a family that will love me and give
me my forever home!
Abby
is a 1.5 year old Agouti female. She was transferred from one shelter to another
and is now in HRC care where she will finally be able to find a forever home.
She a very playful - playing all the time with all of her toys!! She is such
a friendly girl and enjoys the company of humans! Abby is a beautiful rabbit
with gorgeous eyes.
Betty is a sweet 6 month old white & black English Spot.
She loves to be petted but prefers not to be picked up. a darling bunny to have
around. She may also make a great bonding companion.
Betty came from a large surrender in Winchendon, MA where 38 rabbits were rescued
from someone's backyard. She has become a great indoor bunny now!
"Bonjour
- Je m'appelle MAURICE ! And once you meet me you'll fall in
love with me becuase I am a total trip! I love laying beside and playing with
the 3 cats in my foster home. For toys, I am a bit of a chewer, so my favorites
are wooden toys, apple sticks and hay bombs. I truly enjoy human companionship,
as I prefer to eat both breakfast and dinner with my foster mom sitting along
side me. My litterbox habits are near perfect already and will only improve
since my neuter on 07/08/08. Remember, I am still a young boy, so the more human
love I get, the more I'll give back for many years to come. Head rubs are my
favorite, but I sometimes enjoy a full body rub - if I'm not too busy playing
or doing binkies. I'll be a wonderful, loving addition to a family who wants
to get their kicks from watching a character like me perform for your pleasure
- trust me, you won't need a television or video games with me in the room!"

Animal shelters have limited space for rescuing rabbits. Many rabbits face the possibility of euthanasia. Please consider fostering or adopting a house rabbit as a companion. Adopting a rescued rabbit from the HRC makes room for another shelter rabbit to be placed in HRC foster care. Call the Hopline at (413) 525-9222
(Email links at bottom of page).
We often have many more bunnies than listed so please call!

Former
HRC foster bunnies (now a happily bonded pair), Sadie & Elliott play with
their Busy Bunny Ball treat/pellet dispensing toy. They act like a "tag-team"
when it comes to how they get their pellets. With every nudge and roll
of the ball, pellets fall out from one of the two openings, making them work
& play for their food. A wonderful must-have for everybun!
Please visit us at one of our next event locations to purchase your Busy Bunny
Ball, or click on the link below. If you buy through Busy Pet Toys, remember
to state that HRC referred you and use customer/brochure # 69 . With
every referral, HRC earns a donation from Busy
Pet Toys.
